About Us

SenseUA is a chamber music collective of professional musicians from Ukraine, presenting classical and contemporary chamber music on European stages. The members met during their studies at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden and began their shared artistic work with the project Ukrainische Klänge.
Within this project, the collective first started performing Ukrainian repertoire together on a regular basis, primarily through benefit concerts. A performance at the C. Bechstein Centrum Dresden raised funds for the Stiftung Save Ukraine, providing direct support to people in Ukraine. These early performances laid the artistic and conceptual foundation for the further development of SenseUA and continue to shape the collective’s identity.
A particular focus of SenseUA is contemporary Ukrainian music. The collective regularly collaborates with living composers and is deeply committed to the performance of new works.
SenseUA performs regularly in Dresden, including appearances at the Chinese Pavilion, and has also been featured at well-known local festivals such as Klingende Stadt Dresden and Palais Sommer Dresden.
In 2025, SenseUA received support from the Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen. This funding enabled the further development of the project Ukrainische Klänge and the realization of concerts in Saxony, including performances in Zwickau, accompanied by an intensive exchange with the local Ukrainian community.
Project Concept — Ukrainische Klänge | Ukrainian Sounds
The project Ukrainische Klänge | Ukrainian Sounds is dedicated to presenting Ukrainian classical music in Saxony. The concert series, titled “Musical Treasures of Ukraine,” focuses on chamber music works that have so far been rarely performed in Germany. It includes works by Vasyl Barvinsky, Myroslav Skoryk, Valentin Silvestrov, Borys Lyatoshynsky, Maksym Berezovsky, Mykola Lysenko as well as contemporary composers such as Zoltán Almashi, Hanna Havrylets, and Oleksandr Honobolin. The series aims to build an artistic bridge between the Ukrainian and German cultural landscapes while also serving as a sign of solidarity and cultural openness. The project was supported by the Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen

Ukrainian Sounds

is a personal cultural initiative through which I have made it my mission to highlight the rich yet often overlooked musical tradition of Ukraine and make it accessible to a wider audience.
