About Daria

Violinist · Project Leader · Violin Pedagogue · Performing Artist

Daria began her musical education at the renowned P. I. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv, one of the most distinguished centers of musical training in Eastern Europe.
There, she completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with distinction in the class of Myroslava Kotorovych.
During these years, Daria developed not only a solid technical foundation but also a profound musical expressiveness and a distinctive artistic identity.

  • In pursuit of further artistic development, Daria continued her studies in Germany.
At the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden, she studied under the internationally renowned violinist Ivan Ženatý, earning her Master of Music degree there as well.

Alongside her studies, Daria was a member of the Kurt Sanderling Academy of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. This valuable experience allowed her to work closely with leading musicians of the orchestra. Her mentors included Ulrike Petersen (Deputy Concertmaster of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin) and Suyoen Kim, the orchestra’s Concertmaster.
These inspiring artistic encounters greatly enriched her skills in orchestral performance, chamber music, and musical interpretation.

Daria is currently receiving guidance from Tibor Gyenge, the Associate First Concertmaster of the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden. She deeply values this collaboration, as it enables her to continually refine her technical precision, musical expressiveness, and artistic maturity.

Professional Experience

Daria Tarasova gained valuable orchestral experience in her home country, Ukraine, where she served as principal of the second violins in the Artehatta Chamber Orchestra.
After moving to Germany, she performed as a substitute violinist with renowned ensembles such as the Dresden Philharmonic and the Staatsoperette Dresden. In addition, she appeared as a guest musician with the Ensemble Mriya.

Alongside her extensive orchestral work, Daria is deeply passionate about chamber music and the realization of her own artistic projects.

  • One of Daria’s most heartfelt projects is “Ukrainian Sounds”, an initiative that combines musical excellence with cultural openness.
Within the framework of the concert series “Musical Treasures of Ukraine”, she showcases the rich yet still little-known Ukrainian musical heritage in Europe.
From classical to contemporary works, Daria brings this multifaceted music to the stage, inviting audiences to rediscover the diversity, depth, and emotional power of Ukrainian culture.
